Virginia Tech lands another statement commit from the 757

The Hokies are on a roll when it comes to adding in-state talent.
Saturday morning. Bishop Sullivan Catholic WR/CB Tahj Capehart made his verbal commitment to the Hokies after he had narrowed his choices to ten.
The list was virtually a who’s who of college football, including Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. College football fans far and wide were tuned in to get the news of his commitment.
Old Dominion was the first to offer Capehart, before his sophomore season where he transferred from Landstown to Ocean Lakes. The relationship he developed with then Monarchs assistant coach Zohn Burden was a difference maker for Tahj.
The staff at Virginia Tech has yet to indicate to Tahj if he’ll play wide receiver or defensive back for the Hokies. He’d be an asset on either side of the ball.
Last year as a junior at Ocean Lakes on a star-studded team, he caught 25 passes for over 600 yards and six touchdowns as a wide receiver, and defensively he was responsible for 32 tackles, 7 PBU, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
His only Twitter post about his commitment said it simply: “This is home!” and it was accompanied by the photo edit you see above.
With the commitment, Capehart becomes the 15th recruit in Virginia Tech’s recruiting class of 2017, and he is the highest rated commitment yet for Head Coach Justin Fuente’s first recruiting class in Blacksburg.
