The Tennessee Volunteers grab their second and third local commits for their 2017 recruiting class

After hinting at a possible August commitment, Bishop Sullivan twin brothers, Brandon and Breyon Gaddy, shook up recruiting circles across the country with the decision to end their recruitment this week. The Gaddy Brothers made it official on Tuesday, announcing their commitment to Tennessee via Twitter, complete with a photo taken of the pair dressed in Orange and Black Volunteer gear in front of their high school. They chose Tennessee over Clemson, and had close to two dozen scholarship offers each.
The UT commitment is hardly a surprise, with the Gaddy Brothers declaring the SEC East program its leader last month. Breyon, a 6-foot-4, 350-pound defensive tackle, ranked 15th nationally, is the second four-star Hampton Roads lineman to join the Vols 2017 recruiting class, following Ocean Lakes defensive end Eric Crosby’s commitment to UT earlier this year. Breyon combed through nearly 20 offers before deciding on Tuesday. He currently ranks third among Tennessee commits behind Crosby and Tennessee safety Maleik Gray. Both Crosby and Breyon Gaddy are powerful rushers, but also have athletic ability unlike most athletes their size. Breyon foreshadowed what a future pairing with Crosby would look like in an earlier interview with Recruit757.
“There won’t be any competition, at all. We both going to work hard and try to get that spot,” Gaddy noted.
Brandon, has been the consummate utility man for the Crusaders since transferring from Booker T. Washington. An all-state selection last season, Gaddy has seen a bump in his recruitment during the off season. Currently, the 19th ranked defensive tackle in the state and 49th in the nation according to 247 Sports, it remains to be seen which position the Tennessee coaching staff. For the Crusaders, he’s seen time at quarterback, tight end and defensive lineman. He traveled with Bishop Sullivan this past weekend and played receiver for the Crusaders’ 7-on-7 team at the Powerade 7-on-7 Invitational in Charlotte.
Another Bishop Sullivan senior prospect yet to make a college decision wide receiver, Tahj Capehart, currently has double digit offers including Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Capehart released a top month, but has made no mention of an announcement date. The second-team all-state selection is also receiving interest at defensive back.
